June’s Nursery

DSC00765.jpg

This room went from the least used or cared about in our house to everyone’s favorite! Right after we moved in we were using it as a home office and overflow for pretty much everything that didn’t have a place, with the intent to convert it into a nursery whenever we decided to try for baby no. 2. Which pretty much happened right after we started quarantine haha.

Our house is pretty bland architecturally, and any kind of major reno / overhaul for the nursery wasn’t in the budget last year, so my main goal with this room was to try and make it as warm and inviting as possible, while still feeling bright and cheery. We repurposed a lot of the items from when Lyle was a baby or from other rooms around the house, like the dresser, rocking chair and ottoman. The dresser was a vintage Facebook Marketplace find, which I think adds a lot of warmth and personality to the room, as well as the rug, which really ups the cozy factor even though the room is carpeted.

The artwork is a mix of some old prints I had lying around that ended up taking on a Charleston theme, which will always be special for me after living there when I was in college. A couple other of special items are the quilt that my sister made for June and the embroidered monogram that I had custom done by a friend of mine. In the end, I love how everything came together — a sweet little room for the sweetest little girl.
